Beat Description

Llyn Cwmprysor, shown on an OS map as Llyn Tryweryn,  is a small mountain lake full of wild, hard fighting brown trout. Their colour reflects the dark peaty water in which they live. Generally on the small size, which is normal for a lake of this type, the sport they provide will not disappoint.

Fishing is by fly only and there is a 4 fish limit on all BDAA waters. Although the trout at Cwmprysor are mainly on the small side there are larger specimens amongst the smaller fish and these can surprise the unsuspecting angler. During warm days and evenings you WILL need anti midge cream or midge net! There is space to park two or three cars on the stony verge near the stile. Please take care if wading as the lake can be quite soft bottomed and boggy in places.

Small dry flies can be used to good effect when conditions allow otherwise any traditional imitation pattern should suffice.

Cwmprysor Lake is approximately 12 miles from Bala on the main Bala  - Trawsfynydd road.(A4212).
