DERWENT (CO. DURHAM) ANGLING ASSOCIATION

BOOKING: To book please contact our Membership Secretary Paul King.

Based in the beautiful Derwent valley on the Border of Northumberland and Durham in the north east of England. Established in 1865, we have 15 miles of fly fishing on the River Derwent, with good stocks of brown trout and grayling.

The river is located in the Derwent valley which, in part, forms the border between the counties of Northumberland and Durham. The source of the river is in the hills above the Derwent Reservoir and from here it flows through the Derwent valley to join the river Tyne near the famous Metro Centre, a few miles upstream from the now world renowned Quayside area of Newcastle.

The main town nearest to the river is Consett, with a once world-wide reputation for its steel making and more recently for its Phileas Fogg snacks.
